F1: L/Cpl Brian Nichols Oxford Road. His father was a sergeant in the Home Guard & had a shop on Weir Pond Road close to the pub
F2: L/Cpl Kilworth, Stambridge, good at football
F3: Sgt Harold (Sydney?) Hawes. Worked for Rankin mills as a lorry driver
F4: CO Capt Bateman
F5: CSM Reeve
F6: Cpl Derek Hurrell, Canewdon View Road & now Doric Avenue
F7: Lionel Ewers. His cousin lived in Central Avenue
