A Reynolds or Raynolds farm in Shopland
Go directly to the Comments section
Hi,
I am trying to find information on an area of land in Shopland referred to as Reynolds or Raynolds. It was originally owed by a man in Prittlewell who gifted it to the Jesus guild, St Mary's Church Prittlewell in the 1400s. When the dissolution came around the land was taken by the crown.
There is a reference to it being a farm:
Title:

Level: Category
Miscellaneous
Level: Fonds
DEEDS OF ESSEX PARISHES
Scope and Content:
Farm called Reynolds alias Raynolds and land (160 acres) in Shopland, Southchurch, Prittlewell, Great and Little Wakering, farm called Rownsesall alias Rownsevalles and Cattlyns Land alias Cattelands (90 acres) in Ashingdon, Hockley, Hawkwell and South Fambridge
Includes bond assigned on marriage between George Clark of South End in Prittlewell and Hannah Parsons of North Shoebury Hall, 1810
Dates of Creation: 1718, 1810
Extent: 3 items
Do you know of any further information on this piece of land and its possible location?
Thanks,
Kind regards,
Laura
