Roach Valley Way

I've been interested in recording images of The Roach Valley Way for some time now. In the forty-plus years I've been walking this area I've seen some big changes, but have only recently spent time there with a camera in hand. The two areas of greatest change have plainly been seen in what is now known as Cherry Orchard Country Park - formerly an area of farmland, and those that saw the demise of Stambridge Mill.

Forty years ago Finches Lagoon (Stannet's Creek) looked entirely different to the way it now presents itself and this, I think, is another area which has seen great change. The Lagoon is not an area easily accessible to everyone so I recognise the necessity of making this photographic record while both man and nature continue to bring about those changes.
